By registering to play Starfleet, you acknowledge your acceptance of the following privacy and competition conditions:
You will be asked for your real name and email address when you register - we will only use this information to facilitate your participation in the competition, and to contact you when you win a prize and we can't find you on the last day of the Summit.
If you provide fake details and you win the game but don't attend the announcement, chances are high that your prize won't know where to find you.
We will never provide your email address to any third party under any circumstances. We'll be lucky if we can find it ourselves by the time the Summit is over.
We might (read most probably will, unless you specifically ask us not to) subscribe you to our newsletter. It goes out about once a quarter at the very most and contains an 'unsubscribe' link. That is the entire limit of our devious plans for your email address.
If you win a prize, we might ask you for your mailing address so we can have the prize shipped to you. We will never give your mailing address to anyone. Except the courier, of course.
Atrocious violations of your online privacy shall not be committed
An electronic 'ID card' image will be generated for all registered players. After registration, you can optionally add a photograph to your card and change the way your screen name is displayed. You can also log in at a later date to edit your card or delete your details from the system. Deletion will be available for players with non-zero scores only after the prizewinners have been announced on the final day of the Summit.
The game itself can only be played at our booth (G9).
Prizes will be awarded to the players with the highest rank. Rank is awarded on the basis of score and registration date; if two players have the same score, the player who registered earliest will rank higher.
Once you have played the game and achieved a score greater than zero, your ID card will be added to the Hall of Fame and your screen name will appear on the Scoreboard. Both of these pages are accessible from the public Internet and will remain online for posterity, or until .
You can delete your own details from the system either before playing, or after the prize winners are announced. At your request, we will delete your details for you at any time.
Entitlement to participate
Employees of ALM Works are allowed to play, but definitely not allowed to win prizes.
Entry into the competition is free, no purchase necessary. Buying us beers won't help you win but it will make us tipsy.
We reserve the right to be awesome, and we invite you to be awesome with us at booth G9 this Summit in San Francisco.
