Today we are happy to announce the release of Virtual Bugzilla Server 2.0. This version is completely rebuilt from scratch and addresses almost all issues that our users have been reporting in ALM Works forum.
VBS now has the latest Bugzilla and system packages. It is also possible to install Testopia, the Mozilla's test management system, by simply downloading and unpacking a virtual disk. One disadvantage of the new version is the increased download size (80 mb), but we hope it is a negligible price to pay for improvements:
While you can download and install the new Virtual Bugzilla in a few minutes, upgrading from previous versions is a more complicated task. We have prepared detailed upgrade instructions, which are also included in the distribution.
I would like to thank Alex Chistyakov for advice and contributions to this version. Many thanks to our users who suggested improvements to the old VBS. This project is really feedback-driven, so if you have a suggestion how to make Virtual Bugzilla better, please post on our forum.
