Today we're glad to announce the release of the new JIRA Client version 3.8 — our desktop client for Atlassian JIRA. This version introduces a number of new features and improvements.

Establish connection with the embedded web browser

JIRA Client now can connect to JIRA servers protected by Single Sign-On systems. It also supports login with Google account.

Support for SVG images

JIRA Client is now able to show type, status and priority icons of the latest JIRA versions.

It also shows SVG attachments with internal viewer and shows preview on the issue details panel.

OS X improvements

JIRA Client does not use high performance graphics card.

Crashes on OS X are fixed

Upgrade

The upgrade is recommended for everyone who has a license with active maintenance.

Keep your current version of the JIRA Client server plugin if you are running a JIRA version older than JIRA 6.3.

The JIRA Client desktop application upgrade procedure is as usual:

1. Back up your workspace.
2. Install the new version over the old one.
3. Run JIRA Client and wait until it finishes synchronizing JIRA configuration.
