We are glad to announce today the first beta version of the upcoming Deskzilla 1.4.
This Deskzilla version introduces support for bug security groups. It is now possible to set groups when creating new bug and change them when updating an existing bug.
To make this possible, we had to introduce two-level download state for local copies of Bugzilla bugs. A bug may be «partially downloaded», which currently means that Deskzilla didn't get groups information for it (and therefore will not allow to change group info). Partially downloaded bugs are marked with a small half-filled blue box in the bug table.
If you run «Download» action for a partially downloaded bug, or simply view it for some time, Deskzilla will initiate full information download for this bug. When it's done, the partial download marker disappears, and groups information may be edited.
NB: After upgrading to the new version, run synchronization to download additional information from Bugzilla server (use menu File-Download Changes). Until Deskzilla is re-synchronized, you won't be able to specify groups when creating new bug.
This version contains 27 other improvements and bug-fixes. Please download and try the new beta, but don't forget to backup your workspace.
Your feedback is always welcome, please write us or post to our forum.
