Today we release Deskzilla 3.1.1, a patch version that adds support for Mac OS X 10.9 and fixes a few issues in the latest version of Deskzilla.
This version fixes a startup crash on OS X Mavericks. Please note, however, that this version is not digitally signed, so you may need to disable Gatekeeper for the first launch. Please refer to this page for instructions.
The release contains a fix for Bugzilla 4.2+, which ensures that all changes are downloaded by Deskzilla and are not missed. However, if you have a lot of changes happening on the server, it may lead to excessive repeated downloads. This is caused by Bugzilla disregarding time zone parameters in remote requests.
Important: If you have Bugzilla 4.2 or later, you need to set up bugzilla.request.date.zone system parameter in Deskzilla to avoid excessive load on the server. Please see Time Zone Settings for Bugzilla 4.2 for instructions.
We have also fixed a problem with submitting new bugs, which appeared in certain Bugzilla configurations.
A list of issues resolved in Deskzilla 3.1.1 is available in our issue tracker.
Upgrade is recommended to anyone who is using or going to use OS X 10.9 or Bugzilla 4.2. The upgrade procedure from Deskzilla 3.0 or newer is, as usually:
If you are using an older version, use the instructions to upgrade from Deskzilla 1.x-2.x.
This version may be used in a free 30-day trial mode or with any Deskzilla license key with active maintenance subscription. Deskzilla Lite may be used freely with any Bugzilla server having up to 2,000 bugs in the projects accessed from Deskzilla, or with a Bugzilla server that hosts a sponsored open-source project.
Many of these bugs were discovered with your help, so thanks for letting us know by writing to our support and creating issues in our bug tracker.
