ALM Works is a software development company that focuses on application lifecycle management and software development process.
Our goal is to make it easy for everyone involved in a software project to follow, maintain and improve processes that exist in an organization.
We work towards this goal by creating awesome software that integrates well into the existing lifecycle.
ALM Works is a privately held company, founded in 2004 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia by Igor Sereda. The founding idea was to build a rich GUI platform for building desktop applications for issue tracking, change management and other processes involving workflow and changing of discrete work items.
In 2005, we released our first commercial product on the ALM platform we were building, Deskzilla. It was followed by another product on the same platform, JIRA Client, in 2007.
Later in 2007, we also created a free Virtual Bugzilla Server VMWare appliance to expand our scope to the installation and configuration services. Then we added TrackLink to the product line that allowed developers using IntelliJ IDEA to work with bugs in Deskzilla or issues in JIRA Client right in their IDE.
We have participated in the very first AtlasCamp developer conference in 2008 and then in the very first Atlassian Summit in 2009 and became a prominent member of the Atlassian ecosystem.
At the same time, as a part of continuous development of the ALM platform, we have created a popular open-source Java library, sqlite4java and a couple of other open-source projects.
In 2010, we started working on a new product, Structure, and released the first version in 2011. It soon became a hit within the Enterprise JIRA customers and allowed us to expand and seek new opportunities.
As of 2013, we're starting a new product and looking into the future with wonder and excitement.
